Judy and DG Frank Rothermel
Frank joined the Rotary Club of Knoxville in 1996 and served as president in 2006-2007. In 1998 he was selected as the "Four Way Test Rotarian of the Year." In 2008 Rotary International President Wilf Wilkinson awarded him the Four Avenues of Service Citation. He and his wife Judy are Paul Harris Fellows, Paul Harris Society members, Major Donors, Benefactors, and members of the Arch C. Klumph Society of the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International. They are Founder's Club members of the Rotary Foundation of Knoxville. Frank is a 2008 graduate of the District Leadership Academy and also the Water and Sanitation Committee Chair.
Since coming to Knoxville in 1975 Frank has been the founder, owner and president of four general contracting firms. Frank Rothermel Construction Company (1976-1987), Fielden & Rothermel Construction Company, Inc. (1987 - 1992) and Rothermel Construction Company (1992-1996).
He is currently a 50% Stockholder and President of Denark Construction, Inc. Frank is also a 50% partner in Fielden and Rothermel Properties where he oversees the management of over 350 apartments and several commercial properties.
Beyond his business accomplishments Frank has made a point of "giving back to the community" through his work with many local non-profit organizations. He is an active board member of Junior Achievement, East TN Foundation, Affordable Housing Trust Fund, YMCA, Urban League and Leadership Knoxville. Frank is a 1999 Class of Leadership Knoxville graduate, and past president/board chairman of the Homeless Coalition, TN Valley Fair, Mental Health Association, UT Chancellor Associates, Habitat for Humanity, Knoxville Tree Board, Senior Citizens Home Assistance Service, and Knoxville Association of General Contractors. He is also a member of the United Way Campaign Cabinet and UT Graduate School of Medicine. Frank was presented the YMCA's Highest Achievement in 1993, the Red Triangle Award.
Frank & Judy attend John The XXIII Catholic Church where he serves as a Lector & Eucharistic Minister. Frank and his wife Judy, also a Paul Harris Fellow, were married on March 25, 1972, in Cleveland, Ohio. They have two sons, John and Will, who both are Paul Harris Fellows.
