The District Leadership Academy provides intensive training for Rotarians who have served as club presidents and have high potential for future leadership positions outside their clubs.
The lessons are designed to develop knowledge and ideas beyond those one would ordinarily encounter at the club level, and to develop knowledge of resources so that participants will know where to go to research and develop additional Rotary knowledge and skills.
The District Leadership Academy was founded during the 1992-93 Rotary year. From 1992 through 2011, there have been 182 graduates from 56 clubs.
Every district governor who has served since 1994-95 is a DLA graduate as are most of the assistant governors and committee chairs.
