Greetings District Presidents:
There is a link above to a press release about World Polio Day on October 24, 2009. Since we are posting this in early October, about a week before our district wide campaign of "YOU CAN CHANGE THE WORLD," I thought that it would be a good time to begin making the public aware of your upcoming activities. Please distribute this press release to your local paper as a first step in our Polio Plus campaign.
As a reminder: On November 1 place your labeled cans in businesses around your community. Labels may be downloaded by clicking here. Check the cans weekly to recover the change. At the end of November, send the money you collect to Ploio Plus. Simple, easy and direct.
I will be sending you e mails during November to give to your local paper. This will help to make the public in your community aware of what you are doing. These press releases will be generic and will have some blanks for you to fill in your name and club name. That will make it more likely to get in the local paper. Where ther is more than one club in town then rotate who gets the publicity each week.
